What’s an Abagal
Abagals was founded on April 1, 2008 in the living room of Abagal Smart’s creator, Sandra J. Mullen, with a select group of formidable, yet ordinary like-minded women. An ensemble of friends and business contemporaries who mutually agreed to gather on this date for an extraordinary purpose; to develop a vehicle, larger than the book (From Pimples to Wrinkles, I’m Pedaling as Fast as I Can), that would enable the support and empowerment of women.
After a few margaritas, a vast array of junk food, bantering, and cheek cramping laughter, the task at hand which originally brought these women together on this date, regained its proprietary focus and Abagals was born. Hence, eight “out of the box”, myopically focused, profound, midlife and beyond women visionaries, gave birth to the following lofty, yet cooperatively attainable mission:
- Awareness -
- Abagals are cognizant of their “women community”; locally, nationally and globally.
- Benevolence -
- Abagals embrace the philosophy “Charity Begins at Home.” They seek out opportunities to support, assist and empower women of all ages, ethnicities and socioeconomic backgrounds in their home town communities which embody a long range national and global vision.
- Action -
- Abagals passionately give of themselves and their time to organizations and/or projects that support, assist and empower women of all ages, ethnicities and socioeconomic backgrounds in their home town communities which embody a long range national and global vision.
- Gals -
- Abagals are members of a network of gals from around the globe that are like-minded.
- Appreciation -
- Abagals are appreciated for the good that they do for their members as well as other women.
- Laughter -
- Abagals laugh at themselves and use laughter as therapy for healing.
- Support -
- Abagals is a united sorority of loving, caring and giving women who support each and every member as well as other women in need.
Abagals is a living, breathing, growing, whimsically profound haven for its bestest gal pals…..its Abagals!
